A Hungry Morning Mystery

The Brave Little Duck and the Scary Dragonfly | Kids Moral Story

Every morning the kind owner came into the garden carrying a shiny plate full of chopped eggs. The ducklings loved breakfast time. They would wiggle their tiny tails and hurry through the grass as fast as their little feet could go.

The owner always placed the plate beside a green bush and walked away smiling.

But something strange happened every single day.

The moment the ducklings reached the food, a huge dragonfly suddenly burst out from the garden with a loud buzzing sound.

“Bzzzzzzzzz!”

The dragonfly circled above their heads so fast that the ducklings got terrified. Its wings flashed in the sunlight like sharp glass.

“Run!” cried one duckling.

“It’s going to bite us!” squeaked another.

And just like that, they all scattered into the tall grass, trembling with fear.

A Hungry Morning Mystery

The angry dragonfly landed proudly on the plate of eggs. It pecked at the food for a moment and then flew away again.

But the ducklings were too scared to return.

They stayed hidden all day long.

By evening, the plate was still full.

The owner picked it up and sighed sadly. “Oh dear… our poor ducklings must be sick. They’re not eating anything.”

The ducklings listened quietly from the grass with empty stomachs.

That night, they went to sleep hungry once again.

Tiny bellies growled softly in the dark.

A Hungry Morning Mystery

One afternoon, a neighbor duckling named Alyosha waddled into the garden to visit them.

He was small, fluffy, and cheerful. But unlike the others, his eyes sparkled with confidence.

When the ducklings told him about the terrifying dragonfly, Alyosha suddenly burst into laughter.

“That scary thing?” he chuckled. “You’re all afraid of a dragonfly?”

The ducklings looked offended.

“You won’t laugh tomorrow,” one muttered.

“Tomorrow,” said Alyosha proudly, puffing out his chest, “I’ll chase it away myself.”

The ducklings shook their heads.

“You’re just bragging,” they said. “Tomorrow you’ll run faster than all of us!”

But Alyosha only smiled.

The next morning, breakfast was waiting beside the bush once again.

The ducklings stood far away, nervous and shaking.

Alyosha marched forward bravely.

“Well,” he said, trying to sound fearless, “today we end this.”

And right then...

“BZZZZZZZZ!”

The giant dragonfly zoomed down from the sky like a tiny flying monster.

The ducklings screamed and ran for cover.

But not Alyosha.

He stood his ground.

The dragonfly swooped lower and lower toward the plate. Just before it landed, Alyosha jumped forward and grabbed one of its wings tightly with his beak.

The dragonfly buzzed wildly.

Its wings flapped furiously.

For a moment, it looked like both of them might tumble into the dirt.

Then suddenly

SNAP!

The dragonfly broke free and flew away crookedly with a damaged wing.

And it never returned again.

After that day, everything changed.

The ducklings no longer hid in fear.

Every morning they rushed happily to the plate of chopped eggs, chirping and laughing together.

And they never forgot who saved them.

“Alyosha, sit here!” they would say.

“Take the biggest pieces!”

The brave little duck always smiled shyly while sharing breakfast with his new friends.

The garden finally felt peaceful again.
