The Sparrow Was Dying

The Sparrow Was Dying

The Little Sparrow and the Kind Forest Doctor

A tiny sparrow lay trembling on the warm sand after a terrible snake bite. His wing hurt badly, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not fly. Far away in the deep forest lived a doctor who helped every sick animal. But reaching him would not be easy at all...

The Sparrow Was Dying

A Painful Day for the Little Sparrow

The morning had started happily for the young sparrow. He fluttered above the tall grass, singing cheerful songs to the forest. But suddenly, a wicked snake slithered out from behind a rock and bit him on the wing.

The little bird cried out in pain and fell onto the sandy ground.

He tried to flap his wings, but he was too weak.

Tears rolled from his tiny eyes.

Just then, an old green frog with big round eyes hopped slowly through the swamp. She saw the poor sparrow and sighed sadly.

“Oh dear,” she whispered gently. “You need Doctor Aibolit.”

The frog carefully held the sparrow’s wing and helped him along the muddy path through the swamp.

A Helpful Hedgehog Joins the Journey

As they passed a little wooden house, a hedgehog poked his prickly head out of the window.

“Where are you taking the little bird?” he asked.

“To the doctor,” replied the frog. “But the swamp is long and difficult.”

The hedgehog quickly grabbed his walking stick.

“Wait for me under the bush,” he said. “Together we can help him faster!”

The sparrow felt a little safer now. Even though he was hurting, he knew he was not alone.

All day long, the frog and hedgehog walked through muddy water and tall reeds while carrying the weak sparrow in their arms.

But as night arrived, thick darkness covered the swamp.

The trees looked like giant shadows.

The wind whistled softly.

And suddenly, they realized they were lost.

The Sparrow Was Dying

The Tiny Light in the Dark

The sparrow began to shake with fear.

“We will never find the doctor,” cried the frog sadly.

The hedgehog looked around nervously. Everywhere was dark and silent.

Then, out of nowhere, a tiny blue light flickered in the air.

It was a firefly!

“I will help you,” the little firefly said kindly. “Follow my lantern.”

The tiny glowing light danced through the darkness like a magical star.

The friends hurried after the glowing light.

Soon, they spotted something wonderful in the distance.

A painted house stood beneath a tall pine tree.

Warm golden light shone from the balcony.

And sitting there was the kind old doctor, Aibolit.

Doctor Aibolit Helps Everyone

Doctor Aibolit had gentle gray hair and kind eyes. Animals crowded around him from every direction.

A rabbit listened to a story while the doctor wrapped a bandage around a jackdaw’s wing.

A calm elephant welcomed the visitors and quietly guided them inside.

But the little sparrow was growing weaker every minute.

The doctor carefully lifted him into his arms.

“Do not worry,” he said softly. “I will help you.”

All night long, the doctor worked.

He cleaned the wound.

He wrapped the sparrow’s wing.

He gave him medicine and warm tea.

The frog and hedgehog waited quietly nearby, hoping for good news.

Finally, as the first sunlight entered the room, the little sparrow opened his eyes.

He flapped his wings once.

Then twice.

“Chirp! Chirp!” he sang happily.

And out the window he flew!

The Sparrow Was Dying

A Forest Full of Grateful Hearts

The sparrow circled happily above the house.

Thank you, dear doctor! he chirped. I will never forget your kindness!

Outside the doctor’s home stood many more sick animals waiting patiently.

There were ducklings that could not see well, squirrels with injured legs, a frog with a sore stomach, and hares hurt by wolves.

Doctor Aibolit helped every single one of them.

By sunset, the forest was filled with laughter again.

The animals ran, jumped, and played happily through the trees.

In all their excitement, the animals rushed off so quickly that they forgot to say goodbye.

But Doctor Aibolit simply smiled.

Helping others was enough to make him happy.

Moral of the Story

The little sparrow learned that kindness can appear in the most unexpected places. A frog, a hedgehog, a tiny firefly, and a caring doctor all worked together to save one small bird.

Even the smallest act of kindness can change someone’s life forever.
