The Wonderful Miracle Tree

Wonderful Miracle Tree

Have you ever imagined a tree that grows shoes instead of apples?

Not tiny fruit. Not green leaves. Not flowers.

Shoes.

Boots.

Warm wool socks.

And even fluffy little slippers with blue pompoms.

Well, in one strange and cheerful village, there really was such a tree.

Wonderful Miracle Tree

A Very Silly Morning

One bright morning, little Miron ran outside rubbing his sleepy eyes. But before he could say a word, everyone in the yard burst out laughing.

A black crow had landed right on his nose.

The crow flapped its wings proudly as if Miron’s nose were the finest branch in town.

Miron crossed his eyes trying to look at the bird.

“Hey, get off my face!” he shouted.

But the crow only cawed louder.

And things only became stranger after that.

Near the river, a group of ruffs sat in a tree building nests out of long noodles instead of twigs. The noodles dangled from the branches like spaghetti ropes.

One fish proudly announced, “This nest is extra cheesy!”

The others nodded seriously.

Wonderful Miracle Tree

The Ram Who Took a Boat Ride

Down by the dock, a fluffy ram climbed onto a steamboat.

“I’m going to the garden,” he declared grandly.

Nobody asked why a ram needed a steamboat to visit a garden. In this village, unusual things happened all the time.

The steamboat puffed across the water while the ram stood proudly at the front like a captain.

When he finally reached the garden, everyone gasped.

Chocolate bars were growing in the garden beds.

Big ones.

Small ones.

Some wrapped in shiny paper.

A little girl snapped off a chocolate square and whispered, “Best garden ever.”

Wonderful Miracle Tree

The Tree That Made Everyone Stare

But the most wonderful thing stood near the village gates.

A tall tree with twisting branches.

At first glance, it looked completely bare.

No leaves.

No flowers.

No fruit.

Yet hanging from every branch were shoes and stockings of every kind.

Tiny knitted slippers swayed beside shiny boots. Red socks fluttered in the breeze. Warm felt shoes dangled like ripe pears.

The villagers called it the Miracle Tree.

And everyone loved it.

Mother Picks Boots Like Apples

One afternoon, Mother walked into the garden carrying a basket.

Only laughter and warm feet.

“What shall we pick today?” she asked with a smile.

Miron pointed upward eagerly.

“Those shiny black boots!”

Mother stretched up and plucked them gently from a branch.

Then she picked soft wool stockings for Ninka, strong boots for Zinka, and tiny blue knitted shoes with fluffy pompoms for little Murochka.

The children danced around happily, trying everything on immediately.

Even Father joined in.

“These leggings look perfect!” he laughed while pulling a pair from the tree.

Soon everyone in the village wore warm new shoes.

No cold toes.

No torn boots.

No patched-up galoshes.

Wonderful Miracle Tree

The Barefoot Children Run to the Tree

Word about the Miracle Tree spread quickly.

And every child walked home smiling.

Barefoot children came running from every corner of the village.

Some wore ripped shoes with holes.

Some had freezing red toes sticking out of broken boots.

The tree seemed to welcome them all.

The branches bent lower as if inviting everyone closer.

“Pick what you need!” shouted Miron happily.

The children grabbed warm felt boots, soft slippers, and thick winter socks.

Soon the whole village looked bright and cheerful again.

Nobody felt cold anymore.

Moral of the Story
