In the busy city of London, people gathered to watch wild animals in a menagerie. Visitors paid money—or sometimes even brought small animals—to feed the fierce creatures inside. One day, a man arrived carrying a small dog, unaware of the fate that awaited it.
The man was allowed inside, but the little dog was thrown into a cage with a powerful lion. Trembling with fear, the dog curled up in a corner, expecting the worst as the lion slowly approached.
Instead of attacking, the lion gently sniffed the dog. The dog rolled onto its back, wagging its tail in submission. The lion watched quietly, curious rather than cruel, and chose not to harm the tiny creature.
As time passed, something extraordinary happened. The lion shared his food with the dog and allowed it to sleep beside him. The two unlikely companions formed a bond, living together peacefully in the same cage.
